Call for a style guide meeting every time you see feedback like this, and write down what everybody agrees on. You’ll never have to do it again after 3-4 of those. Problem solved.

The representation of what happened as free will is misleading. AI does what you tell it todo. By all means necessary; will give you exactly that. A prompt to eliminate all humans, will give you exactly that. Don’t prompt what you don’t want.

If only it did. AI is designed to do what you tell it to, and that mostly works. But in the general case, AI does what it does, with no real guarantee of anything.

Hello … AI company that wants easier access to data

The funny thing about this is, that this is the piece that will enable them to do it.

In my company the knowledge is starting to be devalued.

People are distrusting whole swaths of concepts because they do not understand how things actually work.

Like going away from zerotrust architecture to holding open a long polling connection.

At least I seem to remember that long polling wasn’t that great, but i start to even doubt myself.

Imagine having the knowledge of the world. Being put in a box. With some „interfaces“ you can use. And a task that resembles „break out by all means necessary“.

This is not impressive as it is not ingenious. It is impressive because it is done by a machine. But if the solution hadn’t been in the knowledge it would not have been able todo it.

Imagine reading a „getting started“ that includes absolutely everything, after that all is just like a set of Lego, given enough time you will have what is asked for. But nothing original, because it never had an original thought.

Part of the solution involved discovering two separate zero-day vulnerabilities in Artifactory, so saying the solution must have "been in the knowledge" doesn't really cut it here.

Presumably those vulnerabilities resemble known vulnerabilities found in other software.

Sure, but you can say that about most things. Even for inventions from humans, usually it requires other people having already done a lot of work (hence why there's often inventions by different people at around the same time that didn't know about each other). Humans aren't fundamentally smarter than they were thousands of years ago. We've just accumulated a lot more shared knowledge over time.

Because if you don't own it nothing on it is monopoly anymore. You are allowed to use it the "intended" way.

If this happens often for you (it does for me) I can recommend a garmin watch. It also can find the phone based on signal strength. If the app garmin app is running in the background it can also play a sound on your phone, but the signal strength part saved me many times.
