I do the same and truly think others are just control freaks that enjoy restricting agents (human or AI) from being productive and also enjoy keeping their worthless selves in the loop for a false sense continued relevancy.
Well, it is always possible that OpenAI and Anthropic have some secret sauce that they are hiding that nobody knows about. However, the pricing of tokens on places like HuggingFace and OpenRouter suggests that probably isn't true. In addition, the lack of reliability and general slowness of Opus and Fable at various times also suggests that.
Now, the one wildcard in all of this could be Google. They are on the eighth generation of their TPU and have been holding their cards extremely close to the vest. I don't think anybody has a good read on exactly how much capacity they have. Most things you can kind of figure out the overall business numbers and what's going on in Google--the TPU area is one of the exceptions. I know a couple of big customers and even they don't have any visibility on that front.
I built https://GitFar.com to clone my private repos off GitHub and host them without their limits using 100%-GitHub compatible APIs! It is stateless, and only uses system tools like rg and git! Gives me complete freedom which I can truly enjoy pairing it with ZFS subvolumes tuned for the different content types in my repos (text, images, video, etc.)!

No they are not. Tired of this 40 year old terminal setback instead of having real and beautiful GUIs. Its fine for some kind of people but don't think what works for you is acceptable for the other 50% of us.
Oh yeah I am not talking about cursor, maybe what it felt like when it was 1.0. There will be a new breed of GUIs for people who don't touch terminals. Opencode web and devin code review have a little glimmer of that but it will probably look very different.
