I don't think you paid very close attention. They clearly showed it transcribing audio when the TV was "switched off". And they weren't "running audio recording through SSH", SSH was just incidental to watch the audio recording and transcription that was happening.
They're suggesting[1] they'll be attempting arrests at polling locations, which due to the statistics on fraudulent votes(statistically microscopic), equates to interference and intimidation since we know ICE isn't beyond arresting US citizens to harass them. This will have a chilling effect on citizens who are remotely non-white, who may avoid voting in person due to the risks associated with interacting with the under-trained ICE forces.
Additionally, USPS's current plans[2] for purging mail-in votes will disenfranchise the other method of voting.
They're the leading agency in the US involved in stopping human trafficking and child exploitation. Unfortunately the good work they do is being overshadowed by the other nonsensical shit.
I know you all are here getting ready for a circle jerk, however ICE stands for Immigration and Customs Enforcement. They monitor all goods and such coming and going from the country.
The biggest issue with a Linux tablet, is you don't have a lot of tablet apps for Linux. Desktop apps don't translate to tablet usage that well. I found that out when I was using a Chromebook tablet, with the Linux mode add-in. Tried using things like openoffice, even firefox, and there were just too many issues (smaller tap targets, things like dragging your finger on a window selecting text (i.e., what a mouse would do) instead of scrolling like you would expect on a tablet of phone, etc).
So you are either running Linux with a web browser that has a tablet mode, and making sure all apps are web apps adapted for mobile or at least non-keyboard use. Or you re-invent Android. One thing that somewhat worked was Nokia's Maemo -- it used X11, but the defined UI toolkit and guidelines made everything uniform and touch-screen friendly. Not sure about how the successor projects look if they are what I remember from Maemo / Meego (so maybe Sailfish or Tizen, not sure how open these are though).
