The next step would be blunt "fuck you and your constitutions and amendments, we're in charge here, we own the guns (both police and army), the media, the businesses, and we won't go away peacefully regardless of your elections". It is already happening here in Serbia which used to be a civilized country.

Seems clear that's begun in the US now.

Yeah the BLM riots were crazy

Most people don’t realize that yet here in America. The fascists are still in our OODA loop.

Unbound is caching, not authoritative. Zones with dns records are served from authoritative DNS servers such as bind. Unbound asks authoritative servers for records and caches them locally, giving faster response and reducing load on authoritative servers.

Just use bind :)

Contemporary pharmaceutical companies, as well as contemporary government and private health institutions are my enemy. I would rather die than live using their products and services.

When more ethical entities take over their business I will gladly start using them once again, as I did back in the day before they turned evil.

interesting. so if you get a bacterial infection, you plan to succumb to it rather than take antibiotics?

I'm not that extremist. My dentist is cool, my childrens' pediatrician as well. I trust them entirely and I know they would never compromise their credibility or my health for financial gain. I always take medicine they prescribe (mostly generic stuff whose patents expired a century or so ago). They always steer me to healthy habits such as excercise and eating fruits instead of taking supplements etc.

Unfortunately, they are the only ones like that I know. Most other I encountered just peddle products for their financial gain. Snake oil salesmen.

I am aware I live in a dictatorship which drove a lot of smart and good people away from the country, skilled doctors and nurses were among the first to go. Hopefully it'll get better once we overthrow the dictator.

I'm afraid to say my last few experiences with antibiotics have been dismal. I got given three different types of antibiotics for one infection, none of which cleared it up much at all. Last time I appeared to have successful antibiotic treatment for something was in the 2010s.

When did that particular switch flip?

As a Serb, I currently live in a dictatorship actively supported by everyone involved in EV boom. Those who want to profit from mining lithium in Serbia have determined my country should be a mining colony, and they do everything in their power, including financing corrupt murderous regime protested by hundreds of thoudands of Serbs for years, in order to poison our rivers and aral land and extract lithium.

https://friendsoftheearth.eu/news/lithium-in-serbia-people-p...

So far we have been able to pause it, but evil never sleeps. Hopefully we overthrow traitors on next election. Won't be easy as all media turned into propaganda brainwashing machine, protesters are being run over by cars driven by pro-government thugs who are being pardoned by president, and instead of being jailed for attempted murder they get promoted, are being given high political functions, and celebrated as defenders of the nation.

Polluted cities getting cleaner for some. Clean rivers and beautiful forests getting poisounous ore pits for others.

>Polluted cities getting cleaner for some. Clean rivers and beautiful forests getting poisounous ore pits for others.

Yes, that is how it goes.

Right now all the "intellectuals" and "thought leaders" are in EV apologetic mode. This is a window of opportunity for the corporate to maximize bad stuff to maximize profits selling EV.

A depressing thread.

We replace the evil of oil with the same behaviour but in new places.

I wonder how long it takes for a country to recover from its oil industry?

There's a port of Unifi network controller for both FreeBSD and OpenBSD.

https://www.freshports.org/net-mgmt/unifi10/

https://ports.to/path/net/unifi/main.html

I guess not officially supported but I use them, they work well.

Interesting - but I just run it in docker. I also run opnsense, which is a FreeBSD, and I find it very high friction.

Long time ago I used these BSD-based appliances such as opnsense, beleiving I'll have it easier with their web interfaces than with editing config files in vi.

In the long run, after investing some time into learning actual BSDs I find editing a few config files much more convenient than clicking around in web interfaces.

OpenBSD is great for a router.

Can't you crash on your sister's couch?

In my case firefox + arkenfox + ublock origin advanced mode require all sorts of weird clicking to enable similar tracking :)

I haven't looked at arkenfox. But I went to the cover your tracks tool by EFF yesterday and it was still able to uniquely fingerprint my computer, even with Firefox strict privacy and unlock origin.

I think unless you run stock mullvad/Tor browser, you're leaking who you are. Sad but true. I wish canvas and webgl fingerprinting were disabled/crippled by default.

it isn't difficult. Just use ip + browser memory + hardware like gpu + some parts of useragent + OS and it is going to be accurate like 95%.

Serbia used to be parliamentary republic. Nominally it stil is. In fact it is currently governed by SNS, former political party turned criminal organization.

Of course. A port is a door. If service listening on a port is secure and properly configured (e.g. ssh), whole Internet can bang on it all day every day, they won't let through without proper key. Same for imap, xmpp or any othet service.

But what can you expect from people who provide services but won't even try to understand how they work and how they are configured as it's 'not fun enough', expecting claude code to do it right for them.

Asking AI to do thing you did 100 times before is OK I guess. Asking AI to do thing you never did and have no idea how it's properly done - not so much I'd say. But this guy obviously does not signal his sysadmin skills but his AI skills. I hope it brings him the result he aimed for.
