I don't agree. Good writing and good ideas are entirely different things. Just read all the beautifully written, inaccurate stuff by the NYT or the Guardian.

Also, non-native English speakers have to use LLMs to share their views so that they are not judged on their writing.

This post is also a good example; it's well written, and I enjoyed it. The idea could have been expressed simply as: "People can smell LLMs in your writing, it makes you look disingenous"

I'd be very curious of some examples when great ideas are being presented in bad writing (or bad speaking for that matter).

weird statement. If they use LLMs they will be then judged for both their inability to write in English and for their usage of AI. Not good.

One example that comes to mind is math textbooks – the early textbooks in a field are usually much worse than later ones that come along. To pick on one, I think most people who've read both would agree that the commutative algebra section of Lang's Algebra is much worse than Atiyah & McDonald's Commutative Algebra book, despite covering basically the same ideas, theorems, etc.

One of the worst aspects of modern life. The most paranoid person decides what the right thing to do is.

American modern life. Vast swathes of the rest of the planet doesn't suffer from our unfortunate pathology.

The person who thought they cared about the child's welfare turned out to be the actual danger, and made the child's life much worse.

Well, I actually live in Gurgaon, India. It is very modern, and it's pretty much the same. Everyone lives in these gated complexes with a tiny militia guarding them from no real threat. Children are driven around everywhere and are always accompanied by a nanny or grandparents inside the gated complex.

The a16z podcast would generate a bunch of ideas irrespective of what your feet are doing.

If only it had sort by magic the great reader had

Yes, its that Google+ which is responsible for the death of the great reader. I am sure total engagement minutes in Google reader today would have beaten Google+ engagement minutes. Such a shame Google.

What shall I say. Not a day has passed since that awful day they pulled the plug when I haven't missed the great reader. I have shared this great tragedy of many friends of mine but the pain was shared only by people who had experienced it, loved it. The look we share with each other in remembrance says it all. Its a massive hole in my life which an incompetent little Feedly tries to fill but the heart still yearns for the great reader.

Today, I got some solace from the fact that there are others like me, only if Google can bring it back can I truly be healed.

Best music player with all the customizations I need and manages all the external devices very well. Quite a shame that it has to shut down. Another disappointment but not as large as Google reader, I will still be using my winamp.
