But honestly, I would dispute the starting quote here; who has any evidence that most intellectuals are nerds? I might more easily accept that most nerds grew into intellectuals, but I’m pretty skeptical that most intellectual always have been nerds.

It’s an interesting idea. I’m skeptical though. And I’m not sure if there’s any way to measure this I would guess there’s more intellectuals than there’s ever been before due to increasing populations and literary literacy rates and access.
A lot of this is just talking past each other. AI being good enough to write 99% of your code but then you still complain about it sucking. Glass half full vs half empty.
Same, at first, I thought it would be something like Glean for enterprise information joining to follow feature delivery or something and then I saw terminal and I gave up.
