Problem with OLED is the 240hz PWM, which is present in the AERO as well.

For instance, on my iPhone 13 Pro, I can see the on-off-on-off clearly once I’m below 20% brightness. The eye strain of oled is terribly annoying.

I agree with you on the blooming, but there are no options today that scratch all itches.



Are all laptops with oled using pwm?

Some amoled phones are using dc dimming...


I’m only aware of the Gigabyte Aero (240hz), Dell XPS 13 (240hz), Dell XPS 15 (60hz!?), and Razer Blade 15 (60hz!?).

I wasn’t aware some AMOLED phones use dc dimming. I would love to have that. It’s so weird looking at your phone and seeing the screen turn on and off repeatedly.
